These are photos of the Quaar Jet Class Heavy Cruiser, the principle capital ship of the Taiidan Imperial Fleet from the PC game Homeworld. The Quarr Jet is roughly 2,500 foot long (my guestimate) and is armed with two twin heavy ion cannon turrets and six twin heavy kinetic energy (railgun) cannon turrets.

The model is 25cm long and is made entirely from 160g weight paper. It was printed on an Epson Photo 830 printer. The model is printed onto 4 A4 sheets (with additional sheets for instructions). The pattern is available as a free download at the Paperstarships website and was created by Ent.E, one of the moderators of the site. It is one of dozens of paper starship models available at the site (including many Star Trek, Star Wars, Wing Commander and B5 craft). The models are created by extracting raw 3D meshes and textures from the PC game code and processing through various graphics software to create a printable 2D pattern to cut out and assemble. The Assault and Ion Cannon Frigates are also available on the Paperstaships website. The models above were reduced in size from the original template in order to match scale with the cruiser.

The base is an old CD-ROM case and a length of plastic rod.
