The first Titan Class vessel, the U.S.S. Titan is currently under the command of Captain William T. Riker. The first of its line, the Titan is a marvel of Federation technology. A massive ship, it is nearly 1 1/2 times the length of a Sovereign class cruiser and has more internal volume than the Galaxy Class Starships, until now the largest star cruiser developed by Starfleet. This "scratchbash" was created from an Enterprise D kit, and a 1/48th scale F-19, with impulse engines from an "E" and modified nacelle shells from an Excelsior kit. The rest of the ship was created from sheet styrene. The nacelle plasma grills were created from transparent blue "water" sheet styrene and covered with fluorescent blue rods available from Plastruct. I wanted to echo the "successor" relationship between the Enterprise A and the new, larger Excelsior, and the Enterprise E and this new, larger Titan class by using an Excelsior -style paint scheme of white and robin's egg blue. This creation is literally 1 1/2 times the length of the AMT Enterprise E kit and measures out around 27". I'm pleased with the result.
