Here's my Polar Lights NX-01. It was a really fun kit to build and now I can't wait for the refit! For the aztecing, I resized the decals Art Asylum posted on their website for the NX toy. I made a custom template on my computer for the deck, as the AA decal just didn't fit right. After several days of cutting the templates, airbrushing began using Testors Metalizer paints. For the base coat I used Aluminum; the light Aztec color is steel, and the darker color is steel with a touch of gunmetal. I lit the kit using only LEDs. Ultrbright blue LEDs light the warp nacelles and the deflector while ultrabright white leds are used for the windows. Sequential blinking leds are in the nacelle caps as well as one ultrabright red to provide constant illumination. I stuffed the caps with clear red plastic wrapping paper before assembly to give them a "fuller" look. The nav lights are red and green LEDs all wired together so they blink in unison. The custom base with the kit-provided base glued to the top houses a 6volt power supply that powers the whole thing. Power is run to the lights through a hollow tube that I replaced the front support with. A power connector at the top of the front support allows the model to be easily removed from the base.
