USS Jodrell Bank |

A medium-sized research vessel, patterned after the Sovereign-class starship, except much smaller. It is named after Jodrell Bank, the radio telescope in Great Britain where astronomers discovered the first black hole. When I said it was patterned after the Sovereign-class ship, only smaller, I wasn't kidding. This started out as an old Enterprise-E kit, but with the following modifications: Much of the outside of the saucer section was cut away; the engineering hull was cut down drastically and the warp nacelles were shortened and had the lower portions removed. |
The nacelle pylons are sheet plastic. Phaser strips were made from half-round styrene strips. Decals were from the spares box, but the hull banners and names were custom made. (And I can't remember who did it. But it was some outfit I found through the Starship Modeler website....) |
