This is the Romulan Battleship D'vest T'atr, lead ship of the D'vest T'atr-class. To the Romulans it translates to mean Glorious Bird in Federation speak. Starfleet, however, has coined it the Devastator-class. She is the latest in the Romulan fleet.

The D'vest T'atr was built from a kitbash of the TOS 3-ship set, using the Romulan and Klingon parts. Her design is during the time between ST-I/ST-II, when the Romulans and Klingons no longer had their Treaty, but still used some of the aspects that they deemed useful. She is built to be in 1/2500 scale(approx).

I airbrushed her in a very light Tamiya Sky Blue, by mixing Sky Blue with White. Their ships during the TOS period weren't gray they were a light shade of blue (though that may have been for the camera to pick it up properly on film). I drew in the lines for the Shield Grids, trying to make something that made sense and looked good. The lower grid is mixed in with the feather motif of the bird.

The purple on the engines and around the bridge are the Cloaking Emitters. The green 'eye' is the ship's Main Deflector. The small green dots are the Romulan version of the Starfleet Phaser Warning Strips. Theirs are Plasma Emitter Warning locations. The gray pieces opposite of the Deflectors are their forward torpedo launchers. The aft ones are the gray tubes. The forward tubes are closed for safety, since vessels generally attack from the front. They open when they are ready to use them.

The red rectangles on the upper aft of the ship are two shuttle areas, and those are the doors. They came from a spare decal set that I had. The windows and access ports are leftovers from 1/2500 scale JTGraphics windows.

I decided to do a different color for the bird emblazoned on the bottom, because I felt that the Romulans would probably have different colors for different fleets within their navy. Also, being that this is the Preator's latest and most advanced vessel, it would be designed in a royal color. Mainly, I didn't like the orange one and I wanted to be different.
