My latest Sci-Fi scratchbuilt model, the Ornithopter from the TV mini-series of Dune. I made sketches of the craft from watching the dvd's, made some drawings and went for it. The scale is 1/48. Materials were plasticard, brass rod for the landing gear, and turned aluminium engine nozzles.

I entered the model in the Sci-Fi scratchbuilt class in this years IPMS UK Nationals, and was fortunate to win a gold medal.
