"This is the Warp 7 Cruiser 'ROBERT MORGAN' named after the pilot of the "Memphis Belle" the first B-17 bomber to survive the 25 missions needed to complete a tour of duty during WWII. At first I didn't know what to name this model until I met Mr. Morgan at a local air show. He was (he passed away last year) a very colorful gentleman and I decided to name the model in his honor. The NX-1244 number is the first four numbers from the "Belle". This model, which is a combination of parts from the SM Logo Ship and a resin "Classic" Enterprise saucer I had laying around, is placed in the Trek time line after the NX-01 and before the first Enterprise of Captain Kirk. It is all resin, except for the neck connector which is from an Estes rocket, and includes many Thomas Models detail parts such as the Sensor Array, the battle bridge and the warp nacelle fronts and rears. The shuttle bay door part is also a cast piece from my old Dadelus kit. The model is painted in Gloss Grey (out of a rattle can) and weathered with acrylic oils. Most of the decals were custom designed on my computer with Adobe Photoshop and printed by JT Graphics. Other were taken from my decal box. The model was then sprayed with Polly-S flat finish. The photos were shot with my digital camera and then I had some fun with Photoshop. Image: Torpedoes away! |
