Polar Lights D-7 Cruiser |

This is my Klingon Cruiser from Polar Lights. I was reluctant to buy one for the longest time simply because PL only offered it in such a small scale. When it became apparent that the old AMT kits (which were a decent size) were not likely to make a comeback, I caved, bought one, and was pleasantly surprised. Like most who frequent this site, I opted to glue the thing together, and tried to putty up most of the gaps (although as the photos will attest, I missed a few!). Tamiya Light Ghost Gray was used in painting. I know the paint schemes specify different shades of gray around the model, but after seeing it on STAR TREK numerous times, the model still looks all one color to me. Hence the final result. I'm sure I'll end up doing the PL Enterprise at some point as a copmpanion piece, although it has never been a big draw for me (I know, sacrilege!). I'm hoping PL will see their way clear to produce a large scale Klingon ship much like the did with their new refit Enterprise. Image: Forward port quarter Image: Stern |
