The Switchlade was originally designed by the Crimson Fold syndicate in their early days but was never adpoted by them. The designs were sold off to various manufacturers via the black market for handsome dividends and the fighter has proliferated ever since.

The Switchblade offered a well armed fighter with a respectable performance at an affordable price. It is quite popular with its operators for its simple durability and good armament. It may not be the fastest or the most nimble of fighters but it's not a fighter to be taken lightly either. In the hands of a skilled pilot the Switchblade can be a dangerous foe. Despite its many producers the Switchblade has remained pretty much unchanged, which is a testimony to the soundness of the original design.

The model is scrathcbuilt mostly from styrene with a couple of X-wing parts and some other kit details. Length is 10.7”, span is 9.6”.
