Here are shots of my Northrop-Grumman Crew Exploration Vehicle (CEV) in 1:72. The model, from my Fantastic Plastic Models line, is based on the Apollo-like capsule configuration NG submitted to NASA in summer 2005, and which ultimately beat out Lockheed-Martin's lifting body concept. The spacecraft is expected to replace the aging Space Shuttle after 2010. Each capsule is designed to last up to 10 missions. This model was built from the first casting done by DasPhule's Controlled Energy Designs and was used for the kit's box art. The pattern is by Scott Lowther. Decals are by JBOT. And, yes, the model is available at the SSM Store! Image: Rear view Image: Front closeup Image: Rear closeup Image: In space |
